The employee of the month scheme was rolled out earlier on this year. The aim being to recognise that people worked hard at The Pleasance and this was noticed by other colleagues. Each member of staff is provided with a nomination form and had the opportunity to nominate a member of staff. The whole process is confidential and nominations are open to all staff with an award for Day staff and the Night staff. The prize was not stipulated and will be personalised to each individual winner and will be of equal value.

The winners for March 2018 had an equal amount of votes:

Denise Chapman nominated for having a consistent approach when supporting residents, having a person centred ethos and communicates well, hardworking and is willing to undertake any tasks and engages residents in a calm and caring way.

Terri Heeley nominated for being approachable and causes no fuss, supports residents positively and has the ability to understand another person’s feelings and communicates well. The way Terri conducts herself at work demonstrates how much she genuinely cares about the people she supports, interacts well with staff and residents and is always quick to offer help and goes beyond for everyone.

Leonida Birkin nominated for being a strong team member and is an all round excellent member of our night team and brings valuable experience, she is, professional, consistent, punctual, has a positive attitude and works really well with all residents at The Pleasance. Leonida understands each individual’s wants and needs and is a valued member of the team. She is able to deal with challenging situations diffusing them in a calm and professional manner.
