A fun activity/ competition between residents at The Pleasance to see who could bake the most delicious cake. Residents were supported where needed by staff to bake their cake of choice. The activity was a great success with nearly everyone across site taking part. Residents nominated our Home Manager David Little and Deputy Manager Andy Kent to judge the cakes. Our judges commented in true ‘British Bake Off Fashion’. We had three winners who all were rewarded with prizes.
1st– Tracy for her Lemon Drizzle Cake
Judges’ comments: Good texture, nice bake, very light, really good lemon taste.
2nd– Nathan for his Blueberry Cheesecake
Judges’ comments: Nice crusty base, baked well across whole cake, nice and cheesy, good blueberry flavour.
3rd– Sam for his Carrot Cake
Judges’ comments: Good bake, orange glaze, nice and light texture, strong cinnamon and nutmeg flavour.
